High Five for Friday #2

It’s been a busy week here in the Duncan house and I am really glad Friday is here. This week kinda seemed like it dragged on and somedays felt like Friday would never come! Even though it was a busy week there are still a lot of good and exciting things that happened this week.

My hubby and I are taking a mini weekend vacation to Sedona today! I am so excited and can’t wait for a weekend of relaxation, hiking, shopping, and some quality one on one time with my man. I am going to miss my baby boy so much, but I know he is in good hands with grandma and grandpa. This will be his first time ever staying the night at someone else’s house so I am a little nervous and sad, but I know he is going to have so much fun there. Jordan and I love going away for a weekend to Sedona. We have gone every year in the fall since we have been married and it is always so refreshing. Sedona is only about an hour away from where we live, but it is seriously one of the most beautiful places. There is so much to do there and the views are just amazing.  It’s gonna be a little weird being away from my boy for two whole days! Not having to change diapers, clean bottles, chase after him, and cook dinner with him hanging on my leg are just a few things I am excited about not having to do for two days! I am really gonna miss those sweet smiles and sloppy, drooly kisses though.

I have been trying to change up my running routine a little bit by adding sprints into my workout. I really hate sprints but it’s one of weaker areas so I am trying to make myself do them more. I am also trying to slowly up my mileage. I am training for a 10 mile race on thanksgiving and then a half marathon in January. I have been feeling really unmotivated lately with my running. This week I was introduced to “run to the top” podcast from runners connect. It has been such a game changer. I have been listening to the podcasts during my runs and it has really helped give me that extra boost to keep me motivated. The podcasts has some really great tips and inspiring runners. I have been getting tired of listening to just music lately on my runs, so it’s been nice to switch it up and listen to these podcasts.

Typical running picture. Penny may be my snuggle buddy, but Roxy is my running buddy.

Our penny girl is doing really well and is getting the hang of potty training. She has only had a couple of accidents since we got her on Saturday. She is so sweet and such a snuggler. It seems like she sleeps all the time. It’s almost as though she is not even here. She is still on antibiotic for her kennel cough, but, seems to be in better spirits and has had a little extra pep in her step lately.

I have been trying really hard to be better at memorizing scripture. Honestly, I don’t think I have really truly memorized scripture since I was a little girl and had to do it for Awana and such. In my “she reads truth” reading plan, it challenged us to memorize this scripture. I will be concentrating and meditating on this verse this weekend.

-Five-

Okay this one I feel totally silly for even writing about but I got this red light up ball for Carson at target for $1. Probably one of the best things I have ever bought for $1. He loves it and it actually keeps him occupied for 5 minutes. Carson is into everything these days and I have caught him 3 times this week with dog food in his mouth! Thankfully, I don’t think he has actually eaten any yet, but I’m sure it wont be long till he does. ay yi yi. So this red ball has been keeping him entertained and he loves watching it bounce and light up. Such a boy.

Those are my 5 things for Friday! I am really looking forward to a weekend away with Jordan. I am so thankful that Carson has so many people that love him and are willing to take him for the weekend. We are so blessed. Happy Friday!
